Roanoke man charged with attempted murder

LAFAYETTE – A Roanoke man is in Chambers County Jail charged with attempted murder and other charges.

According to Chambers County Sheriff’s Department investigator Tony Ward, on Wednesday, April 23, at 8:05 a.m., Chambers County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call on Highway 77 between Marcoot and Buffalo.

The victim reported a robbery, attempted murder, theft and unlawful breaking and entering of a vehicle. The suspect was described as a black male in white T-shirt and jeans driving a black Chevrolet truck.

At 9:34, officers spotted a truck matching the description on County Road 158 and after a short pursuit, the suspect stopped his truck and fled to a wooded area off County Road 237 (Clacksville).

After a brief search of the wooded area, officers found Marvin Dallas Lynch, 28, of Roanoke. He is being held at Chambers County Jail with no bond on charges of first-degree robbery, attempted murder, first-degree theft of property and unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle.

Sheriff Sid Lockhart thanked the deputies and investigators of Chambers County Sheriff’s Department, the City of LaFayette, Chambers County Drug Task Force, Roanoke Police Department and the Alabama State Troopers.
