Johnnie Brewer

(LANETT) Johnnie Brewer, 73, of Lanett died Monday, March 17, 2008, at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville.

Services will be Thursday, March 20, at 11 CDT at Corinth Baptist Church in Cragford with the Rev. Zenus Windsor officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Brewer is survived by his wife, Maureen Brewer; one son, Mike Brewer of Birmingham; one daughter, Terry Bentley of Huntsville; three grandchildren; one brother, Gay Brewer of Lanett; and several nieces and nephews.

Born Sept. 3, 1934, in Roanoke, Mr. Brewer was the son of the late Georgia Vaughn Brewer and Joe Leonard Brewer. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Brewer loved music and played in bands his entire life. He started singing on the radio when he was very young.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 19, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
