Virginia Kathelene Wiggins

(WOODLAND) Virginia Kathelene Wiggins, 75, of Woodland will be Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Gold Ridge Baptist Church, with the Rev. T.J. Morgan and the Rev. Tony McManus officiating. Mrs. Wiggins will lie in state at the church for one hour before the service. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home.

Mrs. Wiggins died Friday, Jan. 11, at Randolph Medical Center, Roanoke.

Mrs. Wiggins is survived by two daughters, Pat McCurry of Graham and Pam Gay of Ranburne; two sons, Donnie Smith of Graham and Tim Wiggins of Woodland; her mother, Gladys Harden of Graham; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Bill Lovvorn, Rodney Martin, Martin Smith, Dennis Wiggins, Edward Wiggins and Ray Wiggins. Honorary pallbearers are Mack McManus and Herman Akins.

Mrs. Wiggins was born Oct. 12, 1932, daughter of Albert and Gladys Walls Harden. She was a member of Gold Ridge Baptist Church and a textile seamstress. She was preceded in death by her husband, Barney Wiggins; her father; and infant daughter, Diane Smith; one sister and two brothers.
