Winston E. Hardy

(JACKSONVILLE) Funeral services for Winston E. Hardy, 83, of Jacksonville will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007, at Tredegar Chapel Congregational Holiness Church with the Revs. David Daniels and Leslee Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Friday, Dec. 21, from 6 to 8 and at the church one hour prior to services.

Mr. Hardy died on Wednesday, Dec. 19.

He is survived by three daughters, Mary Morrison of Lineville, Iva Bryant of Birmingham and Sherron Harden of Daphne; two sons, James Hardy and Leon Hardy of Jacksonville; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Jarrells of Piedmont, Martha Waldrop of Lineville and Betty Creed of Wedowee; three brothers, John Ward of Jacksonville, Paul Ward of Wedowee and David Ward of Northport.

Pallbearers will be Jamie Hardy, Jim Carpenter, Greg Brannon, Jackie Ginn, Charles Parker and Jimmy Parris. Honorary pallbearers will be David Hocker, Grant Hocker, Blaze Austin, Scott Ward, Huse Irwin and LaFayette Brown.

Mr. Hardy was a resident of Jacksonville and a lifelong member and deacon of Tredegar Chapel Congregational Holiness Church. He retired from Anniston Army Depot after 33 years service.

He was preceded in death by his wife Lillian Hardy; his mother, Irene Ward; and his brother William Ward.
