Mildred Pullen Smith
(LANETT) Mildred Pullen Smith, 84, of Lanett died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007, at her home.
Mrs. Smith was born in Roanoke on Sept. 30, 1923, daughter of the late Corburt Harvey and Ellen Manning Pullen. She graduated from Milltown in 1941, moved to Langdale and attended business college while working at Langdale Mill. She retired from West Point Pepperell as cashier and payroll supervisor of Langdale Mill. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Valley, which she served as hostess for many years, and the Garden Club.
Surviving are her husband of 63 years, James Mathews Smith; a son, James Lamar Smith of Lanett; a daughter, Cecelia Smith Fuller of Lanett; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Imogene Lindley of Wedowee and Josephine Lane of Roanoke; and 22 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Henry Q. Pullen, Horace P. Pullen and Marlin Pullen.
Services will be at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26, with burial in Langdale Cemetery.
