RENOVATION TO HANDLEY MIDDLE SCHOOL

PHASE 1 – 4TH, 5TH, 6TH & 8TH CLASSROOMS

THE ROANOKE CITY BOARD OF EDUCATION

ROANOKE, ALABAMA

PROJECT NO. 06-197

Proposals will be received for separate material and sub-contractor bids for the above referenced project by Mr. Chuck Marcum, Superintendent, at the office of the Roanoke City Board of Education, Roanoke, Alabama until 4:00 PM, Thursday, March 15, 2007, then opened and read aloud. Plans, Specifications and Contract Documents are open to public inspection at the office of the Architect and Owner.

All Contractors or Vendors bidding the work stated above shall have general liability and workman’s compensation insurance, and shall state on proposal the scope of work and materials being bid.

If the Bid amount is under $50,000.00 dollars, a Contractors license is not required, nor Bid, Performance, Statutory Labor and Material Payment Bonds. Bids will be submitted on the Vendors/Company letterhead. Bid may be hand delivered, faxed or mailed to the Owner.

If the Bid amount exceeds $50,000.00 dollars, the Contractor must be a licensed Contractor by the State of Alabama under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and a certified check or Bid Bond payable to the Roanoke City Board of Education in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid.

No proposal may be withdrawn after scheduled closing for receipt of proposal for a period of sixty (60) days. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owners judgment, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted.

Completion Time: As per the schedule furnished by the Owner.
