Maye Cofield Strain

(WEDOWEE) Services for Maye Cofield Strain, 97, of Wedowee will be Monday, Sept. 18, 2006, at 10 a.m. at Wedowee First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Don Paris officiating. Burial will follow in Wedowee City Cemetery.

Mrs. Strain died Friday, Sept. 15, at Wedowee Hospital.

Mrs. Strain is survived by a host of nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Pallbearers will be Dale McKay, Jerry McKay, Don McKay, Bill East, Guy Cofield, Gay Mayfield, Joey Mayfield, Jack Mayfield and Jim Mayfield. Honorary pallbearers will be the Wedowee Garden Club, Paul Yates, Tommy Camp, Herman Landers, Vernon Lipham, Tim Coe, Max Dobson and Robert Cofield.

Mrs. Strain was born May 11, 1909, daughter of James Thomas and Denia Bean Cofield. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Wedowee, had been a teacher for 42 years with Randolph County schools, and was a member of the Wedowee Garden Club. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Wedowee.
