Russell E. Cutting
(HENDERSONVILLE, N.C.) Russell E. Cutting, 68, of North Carolina, formerly of Tolland, Conn., husband of Roanoke native Betty (Nix) Cutting, died Friday, Jan. 6, 2006, at Manchester Memorial Hospital.
Born in Kezar Falls, Maine, Feb. 6, 1937, son of the late Russell and Frances (Sawyer) Cutting, he lived in Tolland 32 years and most currently Hendersonville, NC. He worked at Pratt & Whitney and also United Technologies in the Research & Development Division for 31 years prior to his retirement in 1992. He was a member of the Lions Club Moose Lodge and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He enjoyed boating and fishing. Besides his wife Betty, he leaves his son, Gary Cutting of Vernon, Conn.; his daughter, Beth Courtney of Manchester, Conn.; his step-daughter, Vicki Siedlack of Tampa, Fla.; a sister, Barbara Shover of Cornish, Me.; and seven grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Shirley (Stetson) Cutting.
Services will be Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 11 a.m. at Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, Vernon. Donations in his memory may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 35 Cold Sping Rd., Suite #41, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
