Charles Alvin Milstead Sr.
(WEDOWEE) Charles Alvin Milstead Sr., 58, of 5676 Co. Rd. 82, Wedowee, died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2005.
Services will be at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel, Heflin, on Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. James Abernathy officiating. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Milstead was a native of Clay County, born Dec. 28, 1946, and a resident of Randolph County since 1978. He was a U.S. Army veteran and Methodist by faith. He was a member of the planning board at Gadsden State Community College, Ayers Campus, and was employed as shop foreman at L.E. Bell Construction Company since 1986.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Smith, Hoyt Mathis, Terry Sheppard, Roger Key, Robert Milstead, Steve Key, Wayne Adams and Chris Pritchett. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of L.E. Bell Construction Company.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda Milstead of Wedowee; a son, Chuck Milstead of Wedowee; a daughter, Terri Simons of Lineville; three sisters, Margie Hester and Margaret Kistler of Lineville and Deborah Holloway of Ashland; three brothers, Elbert Milstead and James Milstead of Lineville and Lynwood Milstead of Newell; and four grandchildren.
