Juveniles charged in Roanoke break-in
Four Roanoke juveniles were arrested and charged in connection with a break-in on Bell Street last month.
According to reports from Roanoke Police Department, a 12, 14 and 15-year-old male were each charged with burglary and third-degree theft, and a 16-year-old male was charged with burglary and second-degree theft.
The youths are suspected in a burglary on May 25-26 at the home of Lamarcus Bledsoe in which a pistol, DVD player, DVD writer, digital camera and assorted movies were taken. All of the property has since been recovered.
Traffic patrols
Roanoke police will participate in a traffic overtime grant from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) from the first of July until Labor Day, during which time they will conduct license checks and traffic enforcement. In addition, an equipment grant has allowed the department to purchase new radar and preliminary breath-testing machines at no cost to the city, Police Chief Adam Melton said.
Officer training
Roanoke Police Department will have a two-day training conducted by the Bradford Clinic at First Baptist Church of Roanoke dealing with mental health issues. Melton thanks Kay Baker for her help in organizing this program for the officers.
