Emma Cooper Cox Minnifield

(MUNFORD) Funeral services for Emma Cooper Cox Minnifield, 75, of Munford will 12 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2005, at Mars Hill Baptist Church in Anniston, with the Rev. George T. Bates officiating. Burial will be in Eden Hills Cemetery in Anniston with Goodson Funeral Home in charge. Public visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. today at Goodson Funeral Home. Mrs. Minnifield will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service.

Mrs. Minnifield died Sunday, May 22, at Regional Medical Center in Anniston.

Survivors include one son, Jerome Sabree of Anniston; five daughters, Gloria Cooper of Atlanta, Gwendolyn Cooper Jenkins of Munford, Millie Cooper-Smith of Huntsville, Dianne Johnson of Philadelphia, Pa., and Angela Minnifield-Hill of Roanoke; six step-children, Jeanetta Stevens, Alphonso Minnifield and Anthony Minnifield of Roanoke, Ruso Minnifield of Tuskegee, Ann Minnifield of Dayton, Ohio, and Dr. Maria Marable of Hawaii; one sister, Velvet Graves of Chicago, Ill.; a brother, John T. Bailey of Los Angles, Calif.; 32 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.

Mrs. Minnifield was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Minnifield; a son, Ben Cooper; her father, George Bailey; mother, Eliza Bailey; two brothers, Oran and Willie Bailey; two sisters, Cloris Bonner and Heard Bailey.
