James Edward Siggers

(LAGRANGE, Ga.) James Edward Siggers, 69, of LaGrange, Ga., died Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at his residence.

Mr. Siggers was born March 28, 1936, in Roanoke, son of the late John Clyde Siggers and Sara Frances Cummings Siggers. He was a retired driver for Old Dominion Freight Company and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. He was a skilled woodworker and an avid camper. Mr. Siggers was preceded in death by a son, Randy Siggers; a stepdaughter, Lisa Ware McDaniel; four brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Kay Green Siggers; a daughter, Gail Whatley; a stepson, Dave Ware, all of LaGrange; three sisters, Willie Mae Melton of LaGrange, Lou L. Davis of Trussville and Ioan Greene of Roanoke; a brother, J.C. Siggers of Danville, Va.; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at Bethel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jeff Howard officiating. Entombment will follow in Shadowlawn Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church in memory of Mr. Siggers.
