Arthur Lee Lewis
(DAVISTON) Services for Arthur Lee Lewis, 74, of Daviston, formerly of Talladega, will be 1 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2005, at Cogar Hill Christian Methodist Episcopal Church with the Revs. Douglas Perry and B.E. McKinney officiating. Mr. Lewis will lie in state at the church an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Mr. Lewis died Friday, March 4, at his residence in Daviston.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Mae Lewis of Daviston; four daughters, Rene’ McKinley and Yvette Lewis of Cleveland, Ohio, and Jackie Wyckoff and Jennifer Spence of Wadley; three sons, Andre’ Lewis of Cleveland, Alphonsus Staples of Woodland and Johnnie Arthur Lewis of Detroit, Mich.; two sisters, Genevieve Ridgeway of Mobile and Bertha Kittle of Atlanta; five brothers, Cecil Lewis of Talladega, Robert Lewis of Cleveland, Johnnie Lewis of Detroit and Joe Neal Crenshaw and David Crenshaw of Birmingham; 26 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be nephews and grandsons.
Mr. Lewis was a former deputy sheriff in Talladega County for 13 years. He was a member of Cogar Hill Christian Methodist Episcopal Church and a former member of the Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church.
