Estella Gunn

(ROANOKE) Estella Gun, 97, of Border Street, Roanoke, died Friday, Dec. 15, 2006, at her home.

Services will be Tuesday, Dec. 19, at 11 a.m. at Rehope Baptist Church, LaFayette, with Dr. H.L. Jones and the Revs. R.L. Heflin and Mark Phillips officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Survivors include four daughters, Essie Austin of Chesterfield, Va., Audrey Owens of Roanoke, Barbara Beatty of Middletown, N.Y., and Stella Marshall of Charlotte, N.C.; two sons, Carl Austin of Roanoke and Calvert Austin of LaGrange, Ga.; a sister, Alberta Wood of Anniston; two stepdaughters, Betty Gunn and Yvetta Gunn of Atlanta; 45 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; 47 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Gunn; two sons, Curtis Austin and Cletus Austin; three sisters, Eunice Heath, Rosie Grady and Emma Ruth Gay; and four brothers, Josephus Smith, Harvey Smith, Rev. John Smith and Rayfus Smith.

Public viewing will be at Clark Memorial Funeral Service from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Monday. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the funeral.
