Youth charged in burglary

GRAHAM – Randolph County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in a burglary of a Graham fruit stand on Wednesday of last week.

According to investigator Greg Dendinger, Richard Lamar Grantham, 19, of Carrollton, Ga., is charged with second-degree theft of property and third-degree burglary.

The owner of the fruit stand on County Road 87, Benny Akins, reported that the stand was burglarized, the building and its contents were damaged and a rifle was stolen.

Grantham was arrested on Friday, along with a juvenile, and the rifle was recovered.

Oct. 14 – Teresa Carolyn Briskey, 51, of LaFayette – two counts of failure to appear in court (giving a false name to a law enforcement officer, possession of alcohol)

Oct. 13 – Arrie Gail Duke, 26, of Cragford – bad check.

Oct. 13 – Jonathan James Campos, 34, of 1460 County Rd. 63, Woodland – domestic violence, public intoxication

Thefts

Darrin B. Maddox of 20248 County Rd. 87, Woodland, reported the theft of a lawnmower on Oct. 13.

Matthew Czik of Alexander City reported a burglary on County Road 75. Taken were a bicycle, air compressor, handheld grinder, drill motor, ratchet, two nail guns and many socket and hand wrenches.

James A. O’Quinn of 9974 County Rd. 56 reported the theft of a chainsaw on Oct. 13.

Criminal mischief

Those reporting damage to their mailboxes and posts on Oct. 12-13 include: Tony Deese of 523 County Rd. 1293, Wedowee, (three mailboxes); Kermit Hanson, 122 Hanson Rd., Wedowee, (five); Alvis Wayne Dubose, 175 County Rd. 2404, Wedowee; Velma Wright, 1733 County Rd. 44, Wedowee; Judy Kirby, 3358 County Rd. 44, Wedowee; Kevin Yates, 2871 County Rd. 1, Wedowee; John Wood, 2914 County Rd. 44, Wedowee; and Carrie Holloway, 1448 County Rd. 129, Wedowee.

Wanda Swann of 2390 County Rd. 129, Wedowee, reported damage to a personal street sign on Oct. 13.

Amos Chadney Norred of 10374 County Rd. 16, Roanoke, reported damage to a barbed wire fence and metal posts on Oct. 12.
