Jimmy Phillips
(BOWDON, Ga.) Services for Jimmy Phillips, of Bowdon, Ga., formerly of Anniston, were Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Miller Funeral Home. The Rev. Darnell Teal and the Rev. Roger Hammett officiated. Burial was in Forestlawn Gardens, Anniston.
Mr. Phillips was a resident of Georgia. He grew up in the Cedar Springs community and was a long-time resident of Randolph County. He was the owner and operator of Alabama Heating and Cooling in Anniston and retired from Tanner Medical Center. He was a member of Sardis Baptist Church in Georgia, a former deacon at Mt. Prospect Baptist Church and was an avid hunter.
Mr. Phillips is preceded in death by his parents, James Harrison and Bertha Crosson Phillips; sisters Virginia Smith and Lois Snider; and nephew Buddy Snider.
He is survived by his wife, Ronda S. Phillips; three daughters, Chamele Frierson-Walker, Cynthia Farr and Selena Miles; five grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a sister, Frances Sanford ; and several special nieces and nephews.
