Gary Eugene Wiggins

Gary Eugene Wiggins, husband, dad, grandpawpaw, military veteran and retired deer hunter, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, in Atlanta. He was 70 years old.

The funeral will be at Ephesus Baptist Church on Saturday, Dec. 13, at 2 p.m. EST. Burial will follow at Campground Methodist Church in Graham, Ala.

Gary was born Feb. 24, 1944, in Ranburne to parents Edward “Gene” and Liddie “Opal” Wiggins. He married Phyllis Rollins in 1970. Mr. Wiggins retired in 2000 from Southwire after 30 years with the company.

Mr. Wiggins is survived by his wife, Phyllis Wiggins; eldest son, Clifton Eugene Wiggins of Knoxville, Tenn.; son and daughter-in-law, Benjamin Keith and Maryellen Wiggins; two grandchildren; his sisters, Virginia Traylor and Shirley Abercrombie of Carrollton, Ga.; brother, Jerry “Butch” Wiggins of Birmingham; and many nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Suzanne Marie Wiggins.

The family will receive friends at Rainwater Funeral Home in Bowdon, Ga., on Friday from 4-8 p.m. EST.
