Willie Charles Cavender

(LaGRANGE, Ga.) Willie Charles Cavender, 65, of LaGrange, Ga., died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016, at his home.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. EDT Tuesday, Aug. 23, in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with the Rev. Robert Longshore officiating. Burial will follow in Meadoway Gardens Cemetery.

Willie was born Oct. 14, 1950, in Randolph County, Ala., son of the late Alma Cavender and Myrtis Traylor Cavender. He was employed with Newberry Industrial Services and was Baptist by faith. Willie was an avid coon hunter and was a member of Lake West Point Coon Hunter’s Association.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean Ussery Cavender; children, William Cavender (April), Amanda Beesley (Joseph), Andrea Lynn Cavender and Christopher William Cavender; five grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; sisters, Patricia McRae and Rhonda Griffin; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Sticher; and two brothers, Otis Cavender and Jimmy Cavender.
