Hershel Wayne Taylor

(ROANOKE) The funeral for Hershel Wayne Taylor, 74, of Roanoke will be a private service held later with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Taylor passed away Friday, Sept. 21, 2018, at Tanner East Medical Center.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 24.

A Randolph County native, Mr. Taylor was born Oct. 29, 1943, the son of Orvin Taylor and Florence Haynes Taylor. He attended Friendship Christian and Lebanon Christian churches. He worked at Roanoke Telephone Company as an outside plant supervisor for 43 years.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Hurst Taylor; two daughters, Kippie Marcum (Chuck) of Roanoke and Misty Wright (Wyatt III) of Wedowee; two grandchildren, Raygen Marcum and Taylor Marcum; two brothers, Thomas Taylor (Mildred) of Oxford and Winters Taylor (Pam) of Woodland. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Katherine Bailey; and two brothers, Ronald Taylor and James Taylor.

Memorials may be floral, or the family requests donations to Friendship Christian Church Cemetery Fund, 276 Fincher Rd., Roanoke, AL 36274.
