Austin Douglas Pitts

(LINEVILLE) Austin Douglas “Doug” Pitts, 69, of Lineville died April 5, 2020, at his residence.

He was born in Troup County, Ga., to Otis Daniel Pitts and Nannie Frances Blair Pitts. Doug, as he was known, was a U.S. Air Force Vietnam veteran with 12 years of service. Doug had lived in numerous places but called Randolph County home for the last several years. He had several jobs throughout his life, including a test driver for Harley Davidson and also as a truck driver.

He is survived by his three sons, James D. Pitts of Lineville, Randy L. Pitts of Pell City and Alan D. Pitts of Biloxi, Miss.; three brothers, Freddy Pitts of Atlanta and Joe L. Pitts and Wayne Pitts of Lineville; sister; Esther Morrison of Jacksonville; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The family may hold a private memorial at a later date.
