Incidents
June 26 – Bud Cummings Road, Roanoke
The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, Rock Mills Volunteer Fire Department, Roanoke Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Medical Transport responded to a vehicle crash Friday afternoon on Bud Cummings Road near Roanoke. Firefighters extricated the driver from the vehicle before she was airlifted by helicopter to a hospital in Columbus, Georgia. An infant who was also in the vehicle was evaluated by EMS.
June 27 – County Road 648, Rock Mills
A 15-year-old boy was thrown from a horse and airlifted to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham.
June 26 – County Road 499, Ava Community
A complainant reported the theft of a primer gray 1992 Chevrolet C1500 with a black front end, a 1970 14-foot Lowe flat-bottom boat, HP boat motor, a 14-foot green American Sportsman canoe, two eight-foot kayaks (blue and red), and a wood-burning heater.
Items reported stolen from inside a camper included a camper refrigerator, a red 30-quart Pelican cooler with a blue lid, a brown semi-automatic .22-caliber rifle, five fishing poles, a window air conditioner and miscellaneous tools.
The property owner also reported that several personal belongings, including a baby bed frame and mattress, had been burned and pushed down a nearby hill. The owner stated he knows who took the window air conditioner, and although they promised to return it, it has not been returned.
June 27 – Foster Circle, Foster’s Crossroads Community
A resident reported that after welding in an outbuilding earlier in the day, he returned to find the building fully engulfed in flames. He was able to remove his motorcycle before it was damaged. The resident stated there were no visible embers when he left the building and is unsure what caused the fire.
June 22 – Dollar General, Ofelia
Management at Dollar General reported the theft of night deposits on two separate occasions.
