Henry B. Holloway

(WEDOWEE) Henry B. Holloway, 80, of Wedowee, affectionately known as “Mr. Henry”, passed away on Dec. 29, 2024.
Holloway was born April 12, 1944, to the late Jack and Mattie Lee Holloway in Wedowee. He was the third of eight siblings. Henry B. accepted Christ as his personal Savior at a young age at the Union Chapel Methodist Church in Wedowee. He attended Wedowee Elementary and High School.
Henry was known to have gifted hands, always looking to build or fix something. As a young man, “B” would help his family around the farm and later got a job as a lumberjack. Eventually, Henry would find his passion, which was cars. He started working for Chevrolet in Wedowee as a mechanic. After moving to Chicago in 1962, he worked for over 40 years in the car industry and retired from Oakfield Ford as a transmission mechanic.
Henry B. Holloway is survived by his three children, Henry J., Jermaine and Jermichael; three daughters-in-love, Cynthia, Sarah and Robin; 11 grandchildren, Jacquisia, Jannel, Tatyana, Yakira, Jasmine, Jermichael, Jr., Janyah, Alaina, Emerson, Jaylen and Eve Marie; four great-grandchildren, Ja’Kyri, Amir, Kali and Thailand; his two siblings, Albert (JoAnn) and Annie (Delbert); a host of honorary children and grandchildren; and finally, a host of nieces and nephews.
Henry is now joined again by his mother, father, two sisters, Mattie Bell and Sherlie Ann; and two brothers, Thomas and Jessie Lee. Most importantly, Henry is now reunited with the love of his life, Murrie Holloway, and their baby girl, Jernise.
