RCSO and Wedowee Police Department responded to a break-in in progress between 3 and 4 a.m. on Nov. 30 at a shop on Highway 48 near New Hope. The suspect’s white Chevrolet truck struck a WPD patrol car that attempted to block its exit. The white truck continued onto Highway 48 eastbound with officers in pursuit. They lost sight of the truck on County Road 64. The owner of the shop had filed a report about the driver of the same truck stealing items the night before.
The owner of a shop on Highway 48 near New Hope reported the theft of the following: semi-truck brake cores, semi-truck exhausts, semi-truck steel railing, red iron I beam steel, game trail camera and hay mower driveshaft.
On the evening of Nov. 23, RCSO and Morrison’s Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department responded to a mobile home fire in the woods off of County Road 82 near Newell. The trailer, owned by Brenton Dale Morrison, was fully engulfed when responders arrived. No one was inside and no injuries were reported.
A 2-year-old Bassett hound and six large pictures were reported stolen from a residence on County Road 253 near Morrison’s Crossroads.
A dog was reported stolen from County Road 26 near Friendship Church.
A landlord reported damage to siding of a piece of rental property on County Road 19 near Morrison’s Crossroads.
