Notice of Proposed Bank Merger Transaction

Notice is hereby given that Southern States Bank, 615 Quintard Avenue, Anniston, AL 36202, has filed an Interagency Bank Merger Act Application with the Atlanta Regional Office of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation for its written consent to merge with Small Town Bank, 117 Main Street, Wedowee, AL 36278, with Southern States Bank as the surviving institution. It is contemplated that following the merger all offices of Southern States Bank and Small Town Bank will continue to be operated under the name Southern States Bank with the exception of Small Town Bank’s branch located at 1040 Bankhead Highway, Carrollton, GA 30117 (the address of this branch was recently changed from 1004 Bankhead Highway, Carrollton, GA 30117). The Carrollton, GA branch customers will continue to be served after the merger by Southern States Bank’s branch located at 905 Maple Street, Carrollton, GA 30117.

Any person wishing to comment on this application may file his or her comments in writing with the Regional Director of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation at its Atlanta Regional Office, 10 Tenth Street, NE, Suite 800, Atlanta, Georgia 30309, not later than June 28, 2019. The non-confidential portions of the application are on file at the Atlanta, Georgia Regional Office of the FDIC and are available for public inspection during regular business hours. Photocopies of the non-confidential portion of the application file will be made available upon request.
