ORDINANCE 2020-04-02

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 666 OF THE CITY OF ROANOKE, TO CONTROL ANY LOUD OR EXCESSIVE NOISE

BE ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROANOKE, ALABAMA AS FOLLOWS:

WHEREAS, on July 23, 1990, the City Council of the City of Roanoke adopted Ordinance No. 666 to control any loud or excessive noise;

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Roanoke feels it is in the best interest of the public to amend said Ordinance No. 666.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Roanoke, Alabama that Section 3 of Ordinance No. 666 be amended effective April 27, 2020, to include a subsection (a) as follows:

(a) Any business with a permanent physical location within the City which installs, maintains, or repairs any radio, television, phonograph, musical instrument, or similar device which produces or reproduces sound shall be allowed to produce or reproduce sound which is plainly audible more than 50 feet when said business is performing tests and sound checks on said devices within normal business hours.
