The East Alabama Regional Planning and Development Commission is applying to the Alabama Department of Transportation for an administrative, operating and capital assistance grant under 49 U.S.C. Section 5311 of the Federal Transit Laws, as codified.  The operating grant may provide financial assistance for public transportation services for the residents of Randolph County during Fiscal Year 2020 as well as provide financial assistance to purchase capital equipment.  The system is currently being proposed and planned.  Copies of the proposed service description and project budget may be obtained and commented upon at: EARPDC, 1130 Quintard Ave. Suite 300, Anniston, Alabama, between 8 am and 5 pm.  The proposed project will be final unless amended.  This project will be included in the State Transportation Improvement Program and/or the local Transportation Improvement Programs. This notice shall constitute the final program of projects for the East Alabama Regional Planning and Development Commission unless the scope of the project changes as a result of input gathered during the public hearing. The capital grant would allow for the purchase of wheelchair lift-equipped transit vehicle in Fiscal Year 2020.

A public hearing will be held on May 29, 2019, 4:00 pm till 6:00 pm in the 3rd Floor Conference Room at the offices of EARPDC 1130 Quintard Avenue Suite 300 for public comment.  Shane Christian, Project Director, ACTS Transit Program.
