(LINEVILLE) The funeral for Edene Worthy Hanners, 87, of Lineville was Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020, at 2 p.m. in the chapel with the Rev. Raymond Long and the Rev. Zenus Windsor officiating. Burial followed at Shiloh Lineville Cemetery.

Mrs. Hanners passed away Wednesday, Sept. 9, at Clay County Hospital.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County. Mrs. Hanners was married to James Larkin Hanners for more than 60 years and was his caregiver for the last seven years of his life. She enjoyed crosswords, gardening, flowers and old TV shows. She always put her family first and was a loving and kind mother and grandmother. She was blessed to live at her home until she was 85 years old. She spent the last three years at Lineville Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Sheila Raughton (Larry) of Woodland, Cathy Davis of Delta and Patsy Clevenger (Samuel) of Oxford; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Hanners Knight of Lineville; sister, Bobbie Willingham of Jacksonville; nine grandchildren, Brian Raughton (Rana), Chasity Sexton (Daniel), Lance Raughton (Dana), Dusty Davis (Brooke), Clint Davis (Stephanie), Stephanie Pantana (Josh), Maggie Hanners, Micah Clevenger and Mallory Hanners; 11 great-grandchildren, Madi Vinson (Dylan), Ashley Dale Raughton, Alex Raughton, Langley Raughton, Cody Sexton, Cali Sexton, Landon Raughton, Avery Claire Davis, Bennett Davis, Logan Raughton, Cash Davis and Sloane Pantana; and one great-great-grandchild, Baby Vinson on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Grady Worthy and Effie Edene Green Worthy; husband, James Larkin Hanners; son, Jimmy Hanners; son-in-law, Dale Davis; grandson, Matthew Hanners; two sisters and five brothers.

Serving as pallbearers for Mrs. Hanners were Brian Raughton, Daniel Sexton, Lance Raughton, Dusty Davis, Clint Davis and Micah Clevenger.
