(ROANOKE) The funeral for Willis Beck, 82, of Roanoke will be Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2019, at 3 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. John Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. on Monday. Mr. Beck will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services on Tuesday.

Mr. Beck died Friday, Aug. 2, at his residence.

A Fairburn, Ga., native, Mr. Beck was born May 7, 1937, the son of Clyde and Mattie Lee Johnson Beck. He was Baptist by faith and worked as lead man on ramp for Eastern Airlines for 28 years.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Beck of Roanoke; two sons, Greg Beck of Graham and Jay Beck (Jenny) of Woodland; stepson, Bobby Richey Jr. (Tammy) of Roanoke; two stepdaughters, Debbie Cotton (Larry) of Douglasville, Ga., and Callie Walraven (Vernon) of Dallas, Ga.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Sara Fauscett of Fayetteville, Ga. Mr. Beck was preceded in death by his parents and a great-grandson, Jackson Keith Griffin.

Pallbearers will be David Steen, Ronnie Crouch, Dwayne Bailey, Tim Gay, John Hendon and Mike Polston. Honorary pallbearer will be Bobby Richey Jr.
