(ROANOKE) The funeral for Charles R. Shelnutt, 77, of Roanoke will be Tuesday, May 19, 2020, at 10 a.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Billy Prince Jr. and Bro. Tyler Worthey officiating. Burial will follow at Taylor’s Crossroads Church of Christ.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday.
Mr. Shelnutt died Saturday, May 16, at his residence.
An Alexander City native, Mr. Shelnutt was born July 30, 1942, the son of Charlie Nathaniel and Clara Eunice Messer Shelnutt. He was Church of Christ by faith and had worked and retired from Ford Motor Company. He loved spending time at the lake and enjoyed playing dominoes.
Survivors include his wife, Linda McVey Shelnutt of Roanoke; three daughters, Rhonda Stitley (Mark) of Oxford, Lisa Sheerin (Rick) of Rome, Ga., and Lianne Barrett (Shane) of Sharpsburg, Ga.; son, Jeff Shelnutt (Jodi) of Sharpsburg; mother, Eunice Shelnutt of Marietta, Ga.; two stepchildren, Marcie Brock of Newnan, Ga., and Tommy Calhoun of Moreland, Ga.; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and sister, Ann Mills (Jerry) of Marietta. Mr. Shelnutt was preceded in death by his father.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Stitley, Nick Stitley, Nolan Stitley, Chase Kimberly, Joshua Barrett, Dylan Barrett, Jonathan Barrett and Drake Shelnutt.
