(ROANOKE) The funeral for William "Billy" Tarver, 64, of Roanoke will be Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jamie Taylor and Bro. Billy Puckett officiating. Burial will follow at Midway United Methodist Church Cemetery in Wedowee.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday.
Mr. Tarver passed away Saturday, Nov. 20, in Five Points.
A Randolph County native, Mr. Tarver was born May 29, 1957, the son of Fred and Minnie Benefield Tarver. He attended Welcome Home Baptist Church and worked in construction for Zachary Industrial, Piedmont Mechanical and AMEC and Flour-Daniels. Not only was he an avid millwright, mechanic, fabricator and carpenter, he was a friend to anyone he met. Mr. Tarver had a one-of-a-kind sense of humor, loved to laugh and had a passion for making knives and collecting anything and everything.
Survivors include his wife, Diann Tarver of Roanoke; six children, Brandon Stewart of Woodland, Amanda Stewart Davis (Butch), Kyle Mitchell and Josh Mitchell, all of Roanoke, Deanna Hall of Auburn and Misty Harrelson (Mike) of Valley; seven grandchildren, London, Solivan, Danielle Mitchell, Ian Hall, Caleb Mitchell, Anna Grace Mitchell, Cole Davis and Cole Hall; and brother, David Tarver of Waverly. He was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren, Elijah Mitchell and Lucas Solivan.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Phillips, Randy Pool, Ian Hall, Caleb Mitchell, Cole Davis and Cole Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Landreth, James Davis and Bobby Perry.
