(WOODLAND) The funeral for Janie Sue Traylor, 87, of Woodland was Monday, July 15, 2019, at 10 a.m. at Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. David Daniel officiating. Burial followed in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Traylor died Saturday, July 13, at her residence.
A Randolph County native, Mrs. Traylor was born Oct. 19, 1931, the daughter of Arlin and Minnie Lee Parker Gross of the Hobson community. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church for almost 70 years and was a retired teacher at Woodland High School.
Survivors include her son, Guy Thomas Traylor II of Woodland; three grandchildren, Morgan Traylor of Tucker, Ga., and Nancy Heard (husband, Travis) and Guy Thomas Traylor III, both of Woodland; great-grandchild, Payton Reese of Tucker; sister, Wilma Kelley of Memphis, Tenn.; and brother, Jim Gross of Savannah, Ga. Caregivers included Karon Higgins, Wanda McDaniel and Kim Whaley. Mrs. Traylor was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Guy Thomas Traylor; and daughter-in-law, Debbie Morgan Traylor.
Pallbearers will be the deacons of Zion Baptist Church.
