(MORRISON CROSSROADS) A memorial service for Fred Smith Atwater III, 54, of Morrison Crossroads will be Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021, at 1 p.m. at Union Baptist Church with Pastor Ed Halsey and Pastor Gary Cox officiating. The family will hold a private interment at Hepsabah Baptist Church at a later date. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the family requests that all who plan to attend the service wear a mask and practice social distancing.
Fred died Monday, Jan. 4, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Ga.
Born in Southington, Conn., he lived in Florida for many years before moving to Alabama for the last 35 years. He attended Randolph County Learning Center and loved spending time at school. If you knew Fred, you loved him for his gentle smile and caring heart. He was member of Hebsabah Baptist Church and was attending Union Baptist Church the last several years.
He is survived by his parents, Harold F. Sr. and Toni Atwater; sister, Rose Denkler (Curtis); brother, Harold F. Atwater Jr., all of Morrison Crossroads; a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his sister, Frances Starks, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
