(VALLEY) Albert Jackson "Jack" Wood Jr., 71, of Valley died Monday, July 13, 2020, at his residence.

Due to corona virus concerns, funeral services and visitation for Mr. Wood will be private. Mr. Wood will be available for friends to come by and pay respects on Thursday, July 16, from noon until 1 p.m. ET at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.

He was born Dec. 1, 1948, in Randolph County to the late Albert Jackson Wood Sr. and Ruth Wood Graves. Mr. Wood was a U.S. Army veteran. He served in Korea in the Signal Corps from 1969 until 1970 at the rank of sergeant. He worked for Interstate Valley Telephone Company from 1973 until 1984 and was also a sales agent for Townecraft from 1978 until 1994. From 1994 until 2004 he was a bus driver for the Chambers County School System. He was a past worshipful master at Lanett Masonic Lodge #656. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Susan Hill Wood; sons, Chris Wood (Ashley Faulkner), Timothy Wood (Amandah) and Steven Wood (Jennifer); eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a host of aunts and cousins.

Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made in his memory to Lanett Masonic Lodge #656, P.O. Box 656, Lanett, AL 36863.
