(WEDOWEE) Funeral services for Bernard Gerald McKeone, 92, of Wedowee will be Monday, May 20, 2019, at 1 p.m.at Benefield Funeral Chapel with the Rev. David Little, Mike Parker and Woodrow Hudson officiating. Burial will follow at Wedowee City Cemetery with a military graveside service.
Mr. McKeone passed away Thursday, May 16, at Lineville Health and Rehabilitation.
An Omaha, Neb., native, Mr. McKeone was born Sept. 29, 1926, the son of William Edward and Floretta Hinnen McKeone. He was a U.S. Marine Corp World War II veteran, member of First Baptist Church of Wedowee and retired salesman for Consolidated Freight Ways.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon McKeone of Wedowee; two daughters, Lisa Florio of Kansas City, Mo., and Sharon Drost of Tonganoxie, Kan.; two sons, David McKeone of Kansas City, Mo., and Joseph Scott Hall of Decatur, Ga.; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Mr. McKeone was preceded in death by his parents; son, Bernard Gerald McKeone Jr.; two granddaughters, Kristin Florio and Melissa Chavez; and five brothers.
Pallbearers will be Rick McKeone, John McKeone, Robbie McKeone, Thomas King, Kyle Davis and Tony Chavez. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. McKeone's Sunday school class.
