(ROANOKE) Ulysses "Ulice" Hawkins, 67, formerly of Roanoke, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021, at LaFayette Extended Care.

Viewing will be Thursday, Jan. 6, from 1 to 6 p.m. at Clark Memorial Funeral Service.

A graveside service will be Friday, Jan. 7, at 1 p.m. at East Roanoke Cemetery.

Mr. Hawkins was born Nov. 12, 1954, in Calhoun County to the late Ulysses Sr. and Lucille Allen Hawkins. He attended White Plains High School. Mr. Hawkins was a member of Pure Holiness Church. Ulysses worked as a pulpwooder and in janitorial service at Traylor's Nursing Home. He was a University of Alabama football fan, who enjoyed laughing, talking and listening to church music.

Ulysses is survived by his brother, Billy Hawkins (Crystal) of Roanoke; two sisters, Helen Hawkins of Roanoke and Acquilla Woods of Huntsville; brother-in-law, Eddie Morgan, and sister-in-law Ruth Hawkins, both of Roanoke; special niece, Jessica Hawkins of Roanoke; host of other nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bobby and Rufus; and sister, Jessie.
