(ROANOKE) The funeral for Bonnie Hartley Emery, 62, of Roanoke will be Monday, Feb. 22, 2021, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Jonathan Head, Dr. Mike Ragland and Rev. Ricky Emery officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday. Mrs. Emery will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Monday.
Mrs. Emery went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, Feb. 18, at her residence after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
A lifelong Randolph County resident, "Miss Bonnie" was born Nov. 19, 1958, the daughter of Clyde Aaron and Eleanor Grace Hartley. She was a 1977 graduate of Handley High School and a 2010 graduate of Titus Baptist Bible College. Mrs. Emery was a homemaker and faithful partner to her husband in the Gospel ministry for nearly 40 years, during which time she touched countless lives with her loving, gracious and kind spirit and with her witness for Jesus Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Ricky Emery of Roanoke; son, John Emery (Mia) of Roanoke; daughters, Jessica Hand (Scottie) and Allison Emery, both of Roanoke; an unofficial adopted daughter, Ashley Jordan of Roanoke; and two grandchildren, Jaxon and Sadie Emery. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Randy Hartley.
Pallbearers will be the men of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.
