(AIKEN, S.C.) A memorial service for Janell Stewart Shreve, 88, who entered into rest Aug. 30, 2021, will be Friday, Sept. 3, at 1 p.m. at First Christian Church of Belvedere, S.C., with Pastor Milton R. Summerall officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.

Mrs. Shreve was born October 20, 1932, in Randolph County, Ala., to the late Olin and Lily Mae Stewart. She attended Perry Business College in LaGrange, Ga., and Southern Union Community College in Wadley. Mrs. Shreve was a former owner of LaGrange Florist and Newlands Travel Agency. She was a longtime member of First Christian Church of Belvedere, where her husband served as pastor. Mrs. Shreve loved her church and enjoyed traveling.

Survivors include her daughter, Kathryn Wood (Dan) of Aiken; grandsons, Dane Wood (Megan) of Baltimore, Md., Stewart Wood (Jeanette) of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Thomas Hite (Melissa) of Mebane, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Eliza and Lily Wood; sister, Anita Headley (Bill) of Newnan, Ga.; and son-in-law, Mike Hite of Wendell, N.C. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas F. Shreve; daughter, Sharon J. Shreve Hite; son, Thomas "Rick" Shreve Jr.; and sister, Mae Dean Johnston.
