(ALEXANDER CITY) Melissa Ann Carson, 53, of Alexander City died Monday, June 29, 2020, from injuries sustained in an accident.

She was born Oct. 14, 1966, in Yakima, Wash., to William Jerald Aills and Barbara Drozdik Leach. She had lived in many places and had a best friend at every location. Melissa enjoyed growing flowers and shopping for antiques and bargains at thrift stores. She was loved by all who knew her, and she was considered an angel with a fantastic personality. Most recently, she worked as a cook at Meadows Assisted Living.

She is survived by her husband, Steven Carson of Alexander City; daughters, Jennifer Culler and Kacie Culler, both of Maryland; son, Jacob Tyler Carson of Alexander City; stepfather, Larry Allen Leach of Dadeville; and brothers, Jerry Aills of Washington and Kevin Aills of Florida. Her mother and father recently preceded her in death.

The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
