(ROANOKE) Henry Edward Maritz, 81, of Roanoke, formerly of Newnan, Ga., passed away on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023, at his home.
A Memorial service will be held on Feb. 25 at Hillcrest Chapel in Newnan, Ga., at 5 p.m. Visitation will be from 4-5 p.m. before services begin.
Survivors include one daughter, Lisa Ann Maritz Olson of New Jersey; three sons, Daniel Maritz of New Jersey, Richard Maritz (Bridget) of Pennsylvania and Patrick Maritz (Jennifer) of Senoia, Ga.; grandchildren, Taylor, Julia, Hannah, Emma, Zachary, Jacob and Silas Maritz; great-granddaughter, Willow; and one sister, Robin Maritz of Newnan.
A New Jersey native, Mr. Maritz was born on Nov. 30, 1941, in Plainfield, but grew up in Martinsville. He was the son of Henry Arthur and Beate Amelia Stranzenbach Maritz. Mr. Maritz worked as a truck driver. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Debra Maritz.
