(ROANOKE) The funeral for Jerry Cecil Knight, 82, of Roanoke will be Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Corinth Christian Church, Wadley, with Bro. Donnie Chandler officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. at Corinth Christian Church prior to the service.

Mr. Knight died Tuesday, Oct. 12, at East Alabama Regional Medical Center in Opelika.

Mr. Knight was born in Wadley on Aug. 25, 1939, to Charles Garland "C.G." and Mayroe Yates Knight. Mr. Knight was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He worked for many years with local millworks companies in and around the Randolph County area, including Master Door Company, JLM and Jeld-Wen. He was also active with his family's nursery and greenhouse business.

Survivors include his wife, Rudene S. Knight of Roanoke; daughter, Patricia R. Knight (husband, Hiram D. Baldwin) of Poplarville, Miss.; son, Daniel W. Knight of Roanoke; two grandchildren, J. Skylar Cochran (husband, Joshua) of Starkville, Miss., and Jason A. Knight of Roanoke; great-granddaughter, Annabelle Knight; and sister, Alma Treadwell of Melbourne, Fla. Mr. Knight was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Lewis Vernon Knight, Ralph Vance Knight and Charles Knight; and sister, Grace Evans.

Pallbearers will be W.C. Pate, Matthew Knight, Mark Knight, Dale Knight, Kenneth Evans, Jim Evans, Jason Knight and Joshua Cochran.
