(ROANOKE) The funeral for Michael Curtis Brown, 70, of Roanoke will be Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021, at noon at Benefield Funeral Chapel in Wedowee with Bro. Clay Lovelady, Bro. Marty Dunlap and the Rev. Jack Vidler officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens in Roanoke.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday.
Mr. Brown died peacefully, Saturday, Jan. 9, at his home.
A Randolph County native, Mr. Brown was born on March 13, 1950, the son of Curtis and Dorothy Parmer Brown. He was Christian by faith and had worked as a parts manager for Durand-Wayland Inc.
Survivors include his six children, Heather Nash (Joel), Heath Brown (Lisa) and Haley Lovelady (Clay), all of Lineville, Celeste Smith (Patrick) of Ashland, Megan Arrington (Brad) of Wedowee, and Cody Brown of Wadley; 15 grandchildren, Petty Officer 3rd Class Matthew Edge (Gracie), Seaman Madison Edge, Callen Brown, Kyla Brown, Landis Brown, Braxton Lovelady, Chloee Lovelady, Chalee Lovelady, Lidiah Lovelady, Alyvia Lovelady, Blake Watson, Emory Smith, Bennett Smith, Brayden Arrington and Grayson Arrington; and two sisters, Shirley Yarbrough (Henry) of Cusseta and Retha Vidler (Jack) of Roanoke. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Phillip Julian Brown.
Pallbearers will be Joel Nash, Patrick Smith, Petty Officer 3rd Class Matthew Edge, Braxton Lovelady, Heath Green, Martin Hendrix, Tom Hill, Doug Sheppard, Wayne Boggs, Rusty Bailey and Ethan Noles. Honorary pallbearers will be Landis Brown, Blake Watson, Bennett Smith, Brayden Arrington and Grayson Arrington.
