(LOCUST GROVE, Ga.) The funeral for Johnny Mac Stewart, 66, of Locust Grove, Ga., will be Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Douglas Kirk officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Mr. Stewart passed away Thursday, Jan. 20, at his residence.

A Randolph County native, Mr. Stewart was born April 28, 1955, the son of Elton and Elva Noles Stewart. He was one of the biggest Alabama football fans of all times. He was also an avid Dale Earnhardt racecar fan, fisherman and hunter. He loved his grandkids and enjoyed every minute of being their papa.

Survivors include his wife, Anita Staples Stewart of Locust Grove; daughters, Tabitha Nicole Stewart and Karen Denise Stewart, both of Wadley; sons, Timothy John Stewart of Woodland, Christopher Todd Polston of Palmyra, Tenn., Todd Pursley (Christine) of Newnan, Ga., and Robbie Pursley (Pam) of Sharpsburg, Ga.; six grandchildren, Taylar Pursley, Dustin Pursley, Dylan Pursley, Reagan Pursley, Linkin Langer and Jayde Stewart; one great-grandchild, Hudson Yanetsko; and brother, James Stewart (Mollie) of Wadley. Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Bobby Stewart, Tommy Stewart and "Bill" Stewart.

Honorary pallbearers will be Douglas Kirk, Gregg Cottle, Mike Smith and previous Wadley Football teammates from 1969-1972.
