(LaGRANGE, Ga.) Eldridge E. Lumpkin, 75, of LaGrange, Ga., died Sunday, May 19, 2019, at Hospice LaGrange.
The celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. EDT Wednesday, May 22, in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with the Revs. Ben Turner and Danny Geter officiating. Burial will follow in Meadoway Gardens Cemetery.
The gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Lumpkin was born April 1, 1944, in Chambers County, son of the late Glenn Edmon Eldridge Lumpkin and Sara Bell Smith Lumpkin. He was a lifelong member and former deacon of Teaver Road Baptist Church and was retired from Uniroyal Tire Company.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Nonnie Noles Lumpkin; children, Sandy Brown, Wade Lumpkin (Laura), Michael Smith (MyLynda), Dana Walker, Rhonda Horne (Max) and Bonnie Dobson (Eddie); 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Duvard Lumpkin; sisters, Betty Jean Hunt, Mary Lumpkin and Shelia Lumpkin; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Margaret White and Eva Mae Slay; brothers, Jasper Lumpkin, Archie Lumpkin and Leroy Lumpkin; and a grandchild.
