(LINEVILLE) A graveside services for Barron Luker, 88, of Lineville was Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Center West Baptist Church Cemetery in Delta with Bro. Jimmy Bray and Rev. David Holcombe officiating.
Mr. Luker passed away Sunday, Feb. 7, at his home.
Mr. Luker grew up in Delta and accepted Christ as a young man. He enjoyed going to church and serving God. He met the love of his life, Vera, and married one year later. They had one child, Steven, who was their pride and joy. They lived in the Valley for 36 years, where Barron worked as an engineer at West Point Foundry and B&W Works. He moved back to his hometown of Lineville and worked for Wellborn Cabinets until he retired. He was a member of Center West Baptist Church and will be dearly missed by a host of friends and loved ones.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Vera Lois Brown Luker of Lineville; granddaughter, DeAnne Shull (Chad) of Huntsville; four great-grandchildren, Garrett Shull and Rachel Shull, both of Huntsville, Blair Shull of Madison and Mary Kate Long of Guntersville; one great-great-grandchild on the way; special niece, Hilda Key; special nephew, Keith Luker; and extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Young Luker and Maebell Morrison; son, Steven Morris Luker; three sisters, Lillian Luker Foster, Maedean Luker Smith and Guinnell Luker; one infant sister; and brother, Luna Luker.
