(LaGRANGE, Ga.) James Russell Adcock of LaGrange, Ga., died June 29, 2020.

Graveside services will be Friday, July 3, at 1 p.m. CT at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke. Family and friends will assemble at the graveside.

Mr. Adcock was born Dec. 20, 1928, in Randolph County, Ala., to the late William Carlos Adcock and Verna Pinckard Adcock. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and U.S. Coast Guard. He was a 50-year member of the Coast Guard Reserve and Korean War veteran. Mr. Adcock was a certified private pilot, certified ship captain, an avid hunter, fisherman and a member of Troup County Sportsman Club. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and of the Christian Motorcycle Association. Mr. Adcock had a long career as a certified public accountant and was a partner in his firm, Smith and Adcock CPA of Atlanta. He was a highly trained radio operator and will be remembered as a good friend to all.

Survivors include his brother, Carlos Reed Adcock; sister, Winnifred Elizabeth "Beth" Kramer (Ronald); extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Valeria Gay Adcock, and brother, William Worth Adcock.
