(OPELIKA) William "Billy" Donald Vinson Jr., 68, of Opelika, formerly of Roanoke, died July 24, 2020.

The family will have a private funeral service with Bro. Jamie Taylor, Bonnie Sue Knight, Cindy Norred and Sherry Everett officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.

A Langdale native, Billy was born Jan. 7, 1952, the son of William Donald Sr. and Margaret Bailey Vinson. He was Christian by faith and had attended Lowell United Methodist Church, as well as Roanoke First United Methodist Church. Billy was a huge fan of Alabama football and Elvis Presley. He loved his family and enjoyed talking to each of them on the telephone, especially on their birthdays. Billy was truly a special person who made a positive impact on everyone he met.

Survivors include his sister, Debbie Cash (husband, Donnie) of Opelika; two brothers, David Vinson (wife, Cindi) of Gulf Shores and Mike Vinson (wife, Melissa) of Hazelhurst, Ga.; and several loving nieces and nephews. Billy was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Gerry Knight, Shane Everett, Josh Everett, Mario Houston and Nick Norred.
