(OHATCHEE) Graveside service for Laila Roberts, 9, of Ohatchee will be at 5 p.m., Monday July 20, 2020, at Green Family Cemetery in Gadsden with Chance Goodwin officiating.
Miss Roberts died Thursday, July 16.
Laila was a very special little girl. She was so smart and funny. She was always making everyone around her laugh. Her smile would light up the room. Her brothers and sisters would always take care of each other and loved each other. She lived life to the fullest and was never afraid of anything. Depending on the day, she might be a momma's girl or a daddy's girl, but she loved both of them. Laila was averaging visiting a state a year. She had already been to nine states while trucking with her dad and considered herself a "Trucker in Training." Laila also had a dream of becoming a doctor so she could help the homeless, which shows her true love for people. Above all else she loved Jesus and was always a little angel.
She is survived by her parents, Logan and Jamie Roberts; brothers, Hunter Williamson, Dallas Blankenship and Jade Whaley; her sisters, Dannie Whaley and Brittney Branscum; grandparents, Melody and Greg Green, Jackie Roberts, James Blankenship and Loria Branscum; and great-grandparents, Sylvia Grant, Estelle Blankenship and Marion and Nancy Green. She is preceded in death by her great-grandfather, Gene Grant; great-great-grandfather John Yates; and uncle, Johnny Green.
Pallbearers will be Hunter Williamson, Dallas Blankenship, Brian Boydston, Jacob Green, Thomas Reid and Jesse Reid.
