(ROCKMART, Ga.) Patricia "Patti" Davis Hammett, 59, of Rockmart, Ga., died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020.

The funeral was Saturday, Jan. 2, at 11 a.m. ET at First Baptist Church of Rockmart with the Rev. Jason Odom officiating. Interment was Sunday, Jan. 3, at 1 p.m. CT at Wedowee City Cemetery.

Mrs. Hammett was born Nov. 18, 1961, to the late John W. Davis Sr. and Joyce Carpenter Davis. Mrs. Hammett taught for many years in the Polk County School System. She retired after 20 years of teaching. She was a devout member of First Baptist Church of Rockmart. She loved sewing, embroidery and any kind of craftwork. Her family was her life and most precious treasure.

She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Gary Hammett of Rockmart; children, Jason Hammett (Whitney) of Piedmont and Amanda Hammett and Ryan Hammett, both of Rockmart; mother, Joyce Davis; siblings, Susan Bryant (Jeff) of Opelika, John W. Davis Jr. (Karen) of Fairhope and Paul Carpenter Davis of Mobile; grandchildren, Emma Pitts, Eli Bates and Liam Hammet; and other family. Mrs. Hammett is preceded in death by her father, John W. Davis Sr., and daughter, Tina Renea Hammett.

The family suggests donations be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
