(LaFAYETTE) Nina Mae Hardnett, 70, of LaFayette died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2019, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.

The funeral will be Monday, Aug. 12, at 1 p.m. at Christian Memorial Church in Roanoke with the Rev. Burnett J. Jackson, Rev. Thomas Staples and Apostle Earnest Parham officiating. Burial will follow in Sky View Memorial Gardens in the Welch community.

Mrs. Hardnett is survived by her husband, Vernel "Vernon" Hardnett of LaFayette; five sons, Cleveland Jr. Staples and Vernon Jr. Hardnett (Tara), both of LaFayette, Richard Staples (Annie) of Opelika, Dwight Staples (Ann) of Alexander City and Dewayne Hardnett (Conny) of Wedowee; six daughters, Theresa Pridgon (William) and Prescilla Hardnett, both of Opelika, Cindy Heard and Shonda Reid (Harold), both of Roanoke, and Shirley Tucker (Robert) and Janice Hardnett, both of LaGrange, Ga.; brother, Joe Lewis McPherson (Katie) of Fayetteville, N.C.; three sisters, Charlotte Parker of Wedowee, Minnie Bell(Rev. Brady) of Roanoke and Linda Jackson(John) of LaFayette; 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
