(ROANOKE) Linda Sue Swick Smith, 64, of Roanoke died June 29, 2020.
The funeral will be Friday July 3, at 2 p.m. EDT in the chapel of Stutts Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Shelnutt officiating and remarks by her niece, Meagan Sheets. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens.
The family will accept guests at Stutts Funeral Home Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. EDT.
Mrs. Smith was born April 23, 1956, in Heard County, Ga., to the late Theodore Neil Swick and Dorthy Lee Powell Swick. She was a member of Bethel Christian Church. She had a talent for music and loved to play the piano. In previous years she led the choir at Harmony and Ridgeway church. She especially enjoyed listening to Southern gospel. She was a wonderful wife of 39 years to Wayne Smith and saw to the needs of the home. Quilting was one of her favorite pastimes. She had a heart for serving others. If anyone had a need, she always made sure they were taken care of.
Survivors include her loving husband, Wayne Smith of Roanoke; two sisters: Beth Lark (Robbie) of Franklin, Ga., and Cathy Sprayberry of Fortson, Ga.; two brothers, Steve Swick (Donna) of Franklin and Mark Swick of Fortson; special nieces, Meagan Sheets, Amy Tatum and Cassidy Cole; and a number of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Danny Smith.
